The International Students Conference (ISC) 2027 is a dynamic and collaborative platform that transcends conventional discussions about energy and explores how today’s choices can shape the future of people, communities, and the planet. Under the theme “Powering the Future: Youth Navigating Energy Transition, Innovation, and Justice,” the conference places youth at the center of conversations on how societies can navigate the transition toward energy systems that are more sustainable, innovative, resilient, and inclusive.

Theme 3: Indonesia as an Energy Living Lab: Community, Innovation, and Circular Futures

Batik Komar Workshop: A hands-on experience in the art of batik making, where students will learn about the history, techniques, and cultural significance of this traditional craft. 

PT Geo Dipa Energy: Participants visit the Patuha geothermal site to explore Indonesia’s renewable energy development firsthand. Through a site briefing, guided visit, field observation, and reflection, participants will discover how geothermal energy connects technology, natural resources, environmental sustainability, and local contexts.

Community-Based Energy & Circular Economy: Participants explore community-driven approaches to sustainability through local initiatives focused on waste management, circular economy, composting, and environmental innovation.

Participants will turn their conference experiences into collaborative, youth-led solutions for sustainable and inclusive energy futures. Working in groups, they will address a real-world challenge identified during the conference by integrating perspectives such as technology, community needs, environmental impact, social inclusion, and youth participation.

The conference concludes with a Closing Night at TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah): celebrating learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Participants will showcase their final projects, reflect on their experiences, and celebrate the connections and ideas developed throughout ISC 2027
